Established in the year 1990 by a group of social workers, intellectuals and renowned academicians, Baneshwor Campus is a public campus run by teachers and the community. Since its inception, this non-profit institution has been successful to realize the active participation as well as the contribution of the people and community on its various operational and development aspects.
The major objective of the campus is to provide quality education at the cost that is affordable to the majority of the students who come from middle and low-income families. To create an appropriate environment for quality education, to help students become responsive to social changes and become change agents through emphasis on high moral values and to develop student’s analytical capability by expanding their horizon of knowledge are considered as its specific objectives.
The major characteristics of the campus are that it is owned and supported by the community, is a non-profit institution and is managed by the teacher and the community members themselves. The college is facilitated with the adequate physical facilities, has peaceful educational environment, provide the basic sports facilities like table tennis, basketball court, volleyball court, etc. and has a well stocked library that contains about 3500 books including textbooks, reference books for the benefit of the students, however, the membership of the library is optional.
The campus also focuses and encourages students to participate in various extra-curricular and co-curricular activities in order to help them develop different aspects of their life. The programs are usually conducted by the Campus Administrations for the development of the overall personality of the students.
With the aim to generate greater number of beneficiaries in the future, the college aims to establish a scholarship fund. The campus chief holds the responsibility of managing the proposed scholarship fund under the guidance of the Executive committee and the establishment of the Scholarship Fund is aimed at providing scholarship throughout the campus level study for underprivileged students of local and minor communities of the local area. It also provides tuition fee waiver to some of the students as a scholarship program and also a scholarship of Rs 5000 is provided to the student who tops the proficiency level examination (PCL) of both management and humanities stream. The topper of each faculty receives Rs 2500 as a scholarship.
The campus offers programs like two year +2 level program with affiliation to Higher Secondary Education Board, two year PCL examinations with affiliation to Tribhuvan University and Bachelor and Master Level programs with affiliation to Tribhuvan University. For further information, contact:
