Established under Banks and Financial Institutions Act, 2063 as one of the national level development, Business Development Bank Limited (BDBL) aims to be where the growth is, connecting customers to opportunities, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper and ultimately helping people to fulfill their hopes and realize their ambitions.

The bank provides its banking and financial services with its eight branches throughout the nation. The shares of the bank listed on Nepal Stock Exchange is held by over 4300 shareholders nationwide. The bank with its business like personal banking, business banking and other financial services has been serving around twenty thousand customers across the country and has reach to five districts through its network services.

The team of the promoters aims to make Business Development Bank Limited a successful brand name in the history of modern banking and marketing. The bank got its name after the successful merger of two financial institutions, Business Development Bank and Universal Finance Limited in 2068 BS. Established in 2062 BS, the Business Development Bank was a regional level development bank based in Pokhara. The Universal Finance Limited, however, was based in Kathmandu and had been providing its services to its customers since 2052 BS. The successful merger of these two already established banking and financial institutions resulted in the emergence of Business Universal Development Bank Limited, a national level development bank.

The bank is operated through different parts of the nation with an aim of enhancing recognition of BUDBL by customers, shareholders and people throughout the nation.

The bank provides products like checking account, general saving account, money market saving (MMS), Jestha Nagarik Bachat Khata, Nari Bachat Khata, Bal Bachat Khata, shareholder saving, fixed deposit, retirement benefit account, home loan, auto loan, gold loan, easy loan – credit line and installment, loan against FDR, HP/leasing loan, deprived sector loan, business call account, normal call account, non-PMI saving account, term loan, overdraft facilities, real estate loan, business development loan, working capital loan and consortiums and services like BUDBL debit card, SMS banking, any branch banking service, remittance, foreign currency exchange, business clinic and quasi-equity finance.

Business Universal Development Bank Limited merged once again with Siddhartha Bank Limited in 2016 and started their joint operations as Siddhartha Bank Limited.
