Established in the year 1982 to meet the need for a western standard clinic to treat foreign diplomats and aid workers in Nepal, CIWEC Clinic Travel Medicine Center is one of the most reputed and popular destination travel medicine clinics in the world. Over the years, the clinic has expanded its services to a full service clinic cum hospital which provides outpatient as well as inpatient care. The clinic was originally set up as a part of a Canadian project and it was only in 1996 that the clinic was officially registered as the company named Menlha Nursing Home and Medical Center.



Also, the first joint venture company in the health sector in Nepal, the clinic is widely known as CIWEC Clinic and CIWEC Clinic Travel Medicine Center, which are the registered trademarks of Menlha Nursing Home. The clinic is popular not only for its high level of care given to the patients but also for its reliable research and information about health risks in the country. Moreover, the clinic was also selected by the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM) to participate in its global surveillance program called the GeoSentinel for emerging diseases among travelers which made it the first clinic to be situated in a developing country to be selected by ISTM.

Located in Lainchaur, the clinic serves the medical needs and requirements of the patients in its well facilitated and well equipped building.
