Gandaki Boarding School, Pokhara

Gandaki Boarding School is a Higher Secondary School located at Lamachaur at the northern end of Pokhara valley.  The school was established on 11th June 1966.



Gandaki Boarding School is providing an English medium, international standard, all-round education to about 1072 students from classes 4-12.  Out of the students,  35% are girls, 20% are scholarship students, and 65% stay in the hostel.

The school is a non-profit institution owned by Nepal Government (Ministry of Education) is in collaboration to the United Mission to Nepal.

Students are admitted only on the basis of entrance test examination. The school is run by the school Managing Committee. The teachers receive their education and training both in Nepal and overseas.

The facilities and resources of the school for both boys and girls include well-equipped classrooms, library, labs, gymnasium, playgrounds, a health centre and ten hostels. Academic performance has been excellent both in SLC and 10+2 exams. For its best academic performance in the S.L.C. Exam, Gandaki Boarding School has been awarded the Regional Educational Birendra Shield 15 times. Gandaki Boarding School was awarded the National Birendra Education Shield in 2004 A.D.
