Gandaki College of Engineering and Science

Established in the year 1966, Gandaki Higher Secondary Boarding School, formerly known as Nepal Adarsha Bidhalaya, was established by joint initiation of The United Mission to Nepal, The Shining Hospital and The Local Community. Although the school was initially started with thatched roofed mud and bamboo buildings with only forty five boarding students managed by five teaching staff, the school now operates fully facilitated classes up to class twelve.



The school was established as an English medium co-educational regional school in the year 1985 in an agreement between Nepal government and the United Mission to Nepal. Plus two level classes were started since 1992 before which the school operated O level studies for many years. Established with the mission of imparting education of an international standard keeping in mind the need of the students of western development region for quality education, the school believes in the holistic development of the children and students.

With the motive of contributing to the students’ mental and physical development, Gandaki Higher Secondary Boarding School provides an all-round education to them.  The school that was established with the objective of providing a quality education with an affordable cost considers character, service and knowledge as their motto. Situated on the outskirts of Pokhara, the school is spread across 13.5 hectares of land.

The non-profit institution owned by Nepal Government (Ministry of Education) and run by an agreement and in collaboration with the United Mission to Nepal takes students on the basis of entrance examinations. The school teachers and staffs consist of experienced and qualified professionals who had have their education and training in Nepal as well as abroad. The school is fully facilitated with well-equipped classrooms, library, labs, gymnasium, playgrounds, a health center ten hostels for boys and girls, respectively.

The school also offers B.E. in software engineering at the Gandaki College of Engineering and Science.
