Hillside College of Engineering (HCE) is a newly established college that came to operation since the academic session of 2012. Affiliated to the Purbanchal University, Biratnagar, the college is situated at Balkumari Bridge, Koteshwor in Kathmandu. The college was established with the aim of fulfilling the competitive and analytical needs and demands of the new generation of the students.

The college that aims to launch the subjects that are vital and highly on demand in the country provides the path for the students to achieve their desired goals. The vision of the college is to achieve the highest levels of excellence in imparting Engineering Education and Technical Research. Fostering the national development process through creation of a center of excellence in Engineering Education and Technical Research that is responsive to societal needs is the mission of the college.

The major objectives of the college are to provide internationally comparable teaching and learning environment to enhance confidence among the students in entrepreneurial skills and develop skilled human resources.

The courses offered at the college are Bachelors of Engineering in Civil and Bachelors of Engineering in Electrical. Established with the objective of developing research based education in the field of Engineering, Hillside College of Engineering offers latest technology to make teaching and learning process effective. The college also offers well developed research and development academy having several centers with active participation of the students and excellent research environment in association with leading research centers and industrial partners.

The college also provides scholarships, assistantship, loan, counseling center and job opportunities and placement cell. The students are required to have completed their +2 levels with science major (both physical and biological group) with at least second division to enroll into the courses offered at the college. The admission process is carried out in three stages: application, written test and interview.
