Kali Gandaki River

Located in the western Nepal, the river is seventy kilometers long and the best time to go rafting here is October to December and March to May. Passing through the deepest valley in Nepal, Kali Gandaki Valley, the river offers an ideal trip that has the perfect blend of nature, culture and adventure. The river rises in Mustang and converges with the Trishuli at Devghat in Chitwan. Also known as Narayani in India, where it meets the Ganges, the river slices through the world’s deepest gorge between Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. The major attractions of the area are the wonderful gorges like Little Brother, Big Brother, Walk and Bake, Good Morning Cobra and Walk in the Dark. It is an ideal place for adventurous activities like bird watching and camping, besides rafting and cannoning. The river was first explored by Michael Peissel in a small hover craft in the year 1973.

Nearby attraction include the Annapurna Himalayan Range and Dhaulagiri range along with Annapurna Sanctuary and Conservation Area. Flowing freely through two the valley between Himalayan ranges, Kali Gandaki River also has high religious significance.
