KIST Medical College

Established in the year 2006, KIST Medical College is an educational institution for imparting quality education in the medical field. Located in Kathmandu, the college is affiliated to Institute of Medicine (IOM) under Tribhuvan University (TU) for its medical programs. It also runs a 300 bedded hospital that is equipped with state-of-art infrastructure and every modern facility which includes lecture halls, seminar rooms and basic medical science practical laboratories as per the norms of the Nepal Medical Council (NMC).



Established with an aim of being a reputed medical college at the national as well as international level by bringing together the best of the curriculum in a serene academic environment though the dedicated professional services of competent and committed faculty and staff, the college management is always committed to take the services of the internationally renowned facilities from within and outside the country for the high quality medical education. Providing opportunity to all its students for their intellectual, spiritual, social and physical growth to make them able to face challenges successfully is the goal of the college. To keep the students less stressed and healthy, it conducts activities like yoga on a daily basis.

To encourage integrated, interdisciplinary learning among the students and faculties for the development of a holistic, human health professional, to create an institution responsive to the healthcare delivery needs of the nation and expectations of people at various levels of society in Nepal and beyond and to establish a robust research infrastructure and promote and support research especially those which would make a tangible difference in the lives of the people of Nepal are its major goals.

The college is affiliated to Tribhuvan University (TU), Institute of Medicine (IOM) for MBBS course since 2008 and follows the curriculum of IOM. The Medical Council of all the SAARC countries, GMC and USA recognizes the MMBS degree of IOM. A candidate, to be eligible for selection to the undergraduate medical course (MBBS) must have completed 17 years of age and 10+2 years of education of intermediate science or equivalent with an aggregate of 50% marks in English, Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

There are three categories of students in the college that are: Nepalese scholarship students, Nepalese self-financing students and International students. The college also encourages the community-based learning program and actively promotes the development of a community orientation among the graduating doctors. It also has the facility of scholarships in the tuition fees for the deserving students.
