A non-profitable trust-based social organization established by the Madan Bhandari Foundation, the Madan Bhandari Memorial (MBM) College was established in 2001 in Kathmandu. The college offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in different disciplines to the students with a belief of encouraging and helping them to learn independently, gaining knowledge, skills and confidence and providing a firm foundation to build their careers.

Run by a dedicated team of educationists, academicians, social workers and others, the college also encourages the students to participate in the many cultural, educational and sporting programs besides their studies. The foundation established the college with an objective to enhance the educational standard of the nation, to develop both personal and practical skills, to ensure a wealth of opportunities to the students, to encourage the students for the eternal quest of knowledge, to foster academic, extracurricular and personal achievements of the students, to make the most of every resources an provide the most educational value to the students, to recognize academic excellence on a competitive basis, to prepare students for careers in diverse fields, to equip and prepare students for better employment opportunities, to develop the infrastructure to run the suitable and proposed academic programs and to make the college a gem along the number of academic institutions.

The college was established with a vision of developing a greater center of excellence where students of different parts of the country can be provided quality education in fully facilitated infrastructures. The major goal of the college is to do everything to address the cost of education and provide extensive financial assistance to eligible students and to meet that goal, the college has been providing some financial assistance in forms of scholarships, grants or other financial aids. The college is located in a peaceful environment and has separate buildings for diverse purposes.

The college located in Anamnagar offers courses like two years +2 programs in Science, Management and Humanities (and Education) since 2001 with an affiliation to Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB), 3 years Bachelors programs like Bachelor in Arts and Bachelor in Business Studies since 2002 with affiliation to Tribhuvan University and also a Bachelor in Education since 2004 along with one year B Ed. program. It also offers Masters Degree in English, Sociology/Anthropology and Journalism and Mass Communication.
