Mango Lassi

Mango, the king of fruits, is one of the most popular fruits in Nepal. People of Nepal simply love to eat this fruit, whether in pieces or as a juice. It also children’s favorite. This fruit is harvested during the summer, however, eating mango directly is considered to give you extra heat which is why, the top of the fruit is usually cut and it is dipped in cold water for about five minutes before eating.



Another way of eating mango during the hot summers is to make a smoothie or a mangoshake. This refreshing, smooth and creamy drink not only cools you but tempt you for more. Here is one of the many ways of making a Mango Lassi.

Ingredients:

1 cup plain yogurt

½ cup milk

1 cup peeled and chopped ripe mango with its hard crust removed

2-4 tsp sugar or honey

½ tsp lemon juice

¼ tsp cardamom powder (optional)

A few ice cubes

Procedure:

First of all, take a blender and put it the chopped mango pieces into it. Then add milk, plain yogurt and sugar or honey and blend it all until the mixture becomes smooth. Add the cardamom powder and the lemon juice into the mixture and mix well. Put some ice cubes into a glass and pour the smoothie into it. Your Mango Lassi is ready to serve. You can also refrigerate it for 24 hours.
