National College for Higher Education

Established by a group of experienced and dedicated academicians in 1996, National College for Higher Education was established in order to provide quality and need based education in a highly congenial academic environment. To prepare and mould students capable of catering to the future manpower needs of the country is the major objective behind the establishment of the college.



The college has been making an effort for academic excellence towards overall personality development of the student since its inception. Keeping in mind the growing needs for competent professionals in the country, the college also created Center for Development Studies (CeDS) in 1999 that has been offering need based academic programs like Bachelor in Development Studies (BDevS) and Bachelor in Development Finance (BDFin) with affiliation to Kathmandu University (KU). It also has a separate research and development wing for conducting research and training activities. The major aim of the Center for Development Studies is to inculcate knowledge to the students through holistic approach of teaching, training and research.

The college is facilitated with all the basic facilities like a fully functional computer laboratory with unlimited internet access, well stocked resourceful libraries with textbooks, reference books, periodicals, journals, magazines and daily newspapers, spacious and fully furnished classrooms with comfortable sitting arrangement with whiteboard, LCD, OHP, slide projector, photocopy facilities, etc. and also college bus for transportation.

The college focuses on rigorous teaching, training and research for producing competent mid-level practitioners and students interested in higher studies. It conducts regular theoretical interactive classed along with concerned development process and practices, regular seminars, dialogue and interactions with key resource persons from respective areas and field visits in many areas (rural) as indispensable parts of teaching.

The CeDS also publishes ‘Development Journal’ that includes the research articles of students, faculty and development professionals and the college, since 2009, has been conducting various training programs Derivative Training, PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal), SPSS Communication Skills (Basic as well as Advanced) in collaboration with Mercantile Exchange Nepal (MEX Nepal).
