National School of Science (NIST)
Established in 1993, National School of Sciences, popularly known as NIST, has been operated by a group of experienced and skilled academicians deeply committed and dedicated to promoting and imparting quality education in the country. The college aims to provide higher education in science focused on theoretical as well as practical approach to deserving students seeking career in science or related field.
The objective of the college is to produce plus two graduates who are capable of observing, experimenting, investigating and utilizing their creative potential in science related field and leave an impression to all. The college is in the process of developing its own infrastructure and services of high quality, novel thoughts and practical approach in order to achieve its goals. The experienced and professional faculty and other members in the college are dedicated to imparting quality education to the students in a student friendly, comfortable and interactive environment. The college offers two years +2 programs in science with affiliation to Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB).
The college has its own infrastructures required for providing quality education in comfortable environment. The college has its own girls’ as well as boys’ hostels, which provides homely and academic environment to the students from outside the valley, at walking distance from the college premises for more than a decade now. The college also has a clean and hygienic cafeteria for the students and faculty members that cater healthy snacks and food at affordable prices and there is a restriction on junk foods, smoking and other alcoholic beverages. The college also provides transportation facilities to the students living in the major parts of the Kathmandu valley, farther from the college.
NIST also offers +2 programs in Management, Bachelor in Micro Biology, Food Technology and Business Studies affiliated to Tribhuvan University, Bachelors in Bio chemistry with affiliation to Purbanchal University and Bachelor in and B. Pharma affiliated to CTEVT, and Masters in Micro biology and bio-technology with affiliation to Tribhuvan University, and Diploma in Pharmacy and Lab technician with affiliation to CTEVT. The college also runs a school named Millenium International Academy which is situated in Lainchour, Kathmandu, the place where the college itself is situated.
