One of the most neglected areas when it comes to giving yourself fashion uplift, usually in case of men, might be your hairstyle. People fuss around with their make-up, dress, shoes and even accessories but when it comes to their hairstyle, they usually stay content with the trends going around rather than trying what defines their personality. It might be because of lack of proper hair dressers or maybe the negligence of the clients themselves. However, haircuts and hairstyles are no more neglected with the presence of one of the best hairstylists, Neel David in Nepal.

For those who are unaware of what Neel David is (which is pretty rare, I believe), it is a hairdressing salon. There are two outlets in Kathmandu, one in Kathmandu Mall and another in Binayak Complex, New Baneshwor where you can style your hair the way it suits you and adds up to your personality.

Hailing from a small village called Laxmipur, near Birtamod, Jhapa, he realized the scarcity of qualified male hair stylists in Nepal and decided to do something in the field. He traveled to London, Singapore and other parts of the world to broaden his sense of knowledge on male hair styling. He came back to Nepal and started up his own saloon in the year 2006.

His experience in other countries made him continue his academic career in hairstyling and he also wanted to show others that one can make a successful career out of hairstyling. Although he had gone to New Delhi to continue his academic in Fashion Designing, he later decided to give it up and switch to hair designing. He completed his diploma in Hair Designing from Habibs Hair Academy, New Delhi and then went to the Cosmo Hair Dressing School in Thailand. After completing his education there, he returned to New Delhi and started his career as a makeup artist working at many places and was also selected as the top 10 Hair Designers from Asian because of which, he went to London for a month’s training on the field. He worked for many professional companies after his return from the training and had made some money, so he decided to come back to Nepal and start up his work here. Thus Neel David was established here in summer of 2006.

His name, or should we say, brand name Neel David comes from a British man Mr. David Vynal, whom he considers his godfather and also the inspiration of his life. Although he did not get good response from the people at the beginning, the increase in changing perspectives of people towards male hairstyling have given him encouragement. He believes that a perfect and right hairstyle can play an important role in determining and expressing people’s personality. He not only has regular people as his customers but also has a list of celebrities, both male and female.

He was also appointed as a representative of L’Oreal hair color brand for three years because of his popularity in West Bengal, India. He also launched the new L’Oreal hair color and he uses only this brand in his India based salons. He has also done three month course in ‘Christine Blundell Make up Academy and was the first Nepali to be a student of Oscar winner Christine Blundell for three months of ‘Winter Intensive Course’.
