One of the highest lakes of the world, Tilicho Lake is situated at the height of 4,949m in the Annapurna Himalayan Range in Manang district of Nepal. It was also the site for one of the highest altitude scuba dives in 2000, a Russian diving team consisting of Andrei Andryushin, Denis Bakin and Maxim Gresko conducted scuba dive in the lake.

The glacial melts of the northern slopes of Annapurna and Thorang Peak are collected in the Tilicho Lake. It observed maximum Hindu devotees from around the world in the year 2001, who believed it to be the holy lake mentioned in the religious text Ramayana.

It is also one of the many trekking destinations. The Tilicho Lake trekking starts from Besisahar, a popular village in Lamjung district. The free flowing Marshyangdi River and the magnificent views of Manaslu and Himchuli on the east are the best company one could desire during the trek. The trek leads you to the beautiful village surrounded by the spectacular and breathtaking white Himalayas and inhabited by diverse ethnic groups. One could also plan trek from Tilicho to other trekking destinations like Muktinath, Yak Kharka, Khanshar village (the last village of Nepal), etc.

New lodges built between the Manang and the lake provide accommodation for the trekkers. However, there are not many accommodations or tea houses in the area. The trekkers need to take their gears and other required instruments. Also camping on the area could be arranged. The trek to the highest lake of Nepal is one of the most enticing and thrilling experiences. Beginning of March to end of May and the beginning of September to the end of December are the best times for Tilicho trek. The trekkers can also choose their desirable routes for the journey.
