Dhuwaa, Yo Nasha
Dhunwaa Yo Nasha, directed by Laxman Rijal and produced by Ram Prasad Rijal cast actors Aryan Sigdel and Nisha Adhikari. The movie released on October 19, 2012 is based on a story of drug and its impact in the society and personal relationships.
Avisekh, also known as Avi (Aryan Sigdel) is portrayed as a vocalist of a music band. The music band is formed by Avi with two of his friends and a brother. Avi has a crush on Sameera (Nisha Adhikari), his classmate. He used to take help of drug to gather the courage to propose her, however, Avi slowly gets addicted to the drug and the situation comes when he had to choose between drug and Sameera. Since, both of them were equally important to him, his friend suggests him to help Sameera to get addicted to drug.
Will Sameera find out that she was given drug unknowingly by Avi? How they will get out of it or will their life be ruined by the drug? These are the questions that may arise in someone’s mind who had not watched the movie.
The concept and the story of the movie are good. The movie has mainly focused on the youths of the city area and has tried to show the negative impact of drug but it seems to lack in many aspects.
The drug search character played by Avi does not reflect a real life drug-user’s characters. It seems that director Laxman Rijal has not done a proper study on drug users and their characters. The story of the movie is very disjointed and some scenes are unnecessarily elongated. The viewers get bored and even the first half of the movie does not seem to be anywhere near being interesting that may motivate the viewers to watch the second half. The performance of both the actors is average and the movie does not have anything to woo the youths. However, the song “Badhana Badha…….” by Sanup Paudel is somewhat better.
Overall, the director fails to meet the expectations of the audience. The movie and the characters do not deliver any targeted message through Dhuwaa yo nasha. So, if you ever come across this movie, it is recommended that you do not watch it, however, if you simply want to waste your few hours, you might as well give it a shot.
