Established in June 2000 with an aim to provide quality education in engineering and produce qualified engineering graduates, Himalayan College of Engineering is affiliated to Tribhuvan University. Since its inceptions, the college has been providing educational courses in Bachelor of Engineering program of Institute of Engineering (IOE), TU in Computer, Electronics and Communication and Civil Engineering along with Bachelor of Architecture that has been launched recently during the end of 2000s.

The team of highly experienced professionals and academicians work diligently and dedicatedly to impart quality education to the students. Since 2007, the college has also been associated with Kathmandu Model College (KMC) and has expanded its programs and gained strength in order to make further improvement in all areas since its association with KMC.

The courses offered at the college are made keeping in mind the standards set for the academic programs conducted by IOE, hence, the courses here provides quality education required for the students to assist them in pursuing their professional and educational goals in future. The Bachelor of Engineering (Civil engineering) was started since 2008.

The college not only focuses on providing quality education but also gives equal priority to the extracurricular activities. The robotics team of the college grabbed first position in inter-engineering college competition which was held in 2065 BS in Kathmandu. The college is well equipped and well facilitated with its own infrastructures required for the purpose of imparting quality education to the students, not only in terms of theory but also practical. It has a well stocked library, clean and hygienic cafeteria, playground, comfortable classrooms, highly skilled and experience faculty members, etc. Himalayan College of Engineering also has different institutions and council through which the students can explore their potentials.
